  • As security forces kill two terrorists, arrest three and destroy several hideouts in Machis area of NWA, militant commander Hafiz Gul Bahadar shows resentment over PAF airstrikes

Security forces on Thursday killed two terrorists, arrested three others and bulldozed several hideouts in North Waziristan Agency (NWA).

Reports reveal that security forces with the help of gunship helicopters started a search operation in the Machis camp and later demolished the mudhouses. The Taliban terrorists had occupied the camp after Afghan refugees vacated it several years ago.

According to an ISPR spokesman, two terrorists were killed and three arrested after an exchange of fire. He also said terrorists attacked military camps in retaliation of the airstrikes.

Security sources said that the security personnel conducted the search operation against terrorists in the Machis area of Miranshah, the tribal headquarters of North Waziristan Agency (NWA).

The ISPR official said that security forces also continued a search operation in surrounding areas of Mirali, second biggest town of North Waziristan.

Security forces also defused two improvised explosive devices (IED). Whereas three injured officials were shifted to Peshawar.

On Wednesday, security forces had killed as many as 71 terrorists. Top terrorist commanders Dukhtar Muhammad, Musa Khan Mehsud, Sabir Khan Mehsud and Jihadyar were among those killed.

GUL BAHADAR RESENTS:

Meanwhile, militant commander Hafiz Gul Bahadar has shown his resentment over the airstrikes.

In a press statement, he said that they could reconsider the peace accord they had signed with the government.

The local tribesmen in Mirali said that killed and injured people included civilians.

People have started evacuating their homes in Miranshah in the wake of a possible military offensive against terrorists.
