Ansar Burney Trust International Chairman Ansar Burney has said that the remaining 198 Pakistani prisoners incarcerated in Libya would be release and reach back home soon.
He appreciated the efforts of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan’s Ambassador in Libya Lt Gen (r) Javed Zia, Ansar Burney Trust International and Libyan Government for their kind assistance and support in this regard.
Burney said that earlier with the joint efforts of Ansar Burney Trust International, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Pakistan Embassy at Tripoli have became fruitful when 48 Pakistani prisoners already arrived back home on 14th May.
He said human traffickers had booked Pakistani citizens for Italy for hefty sums of money. The victims of such human trafficking had not only lost their money, which they had gathered after they had sold domestic appliances and jewelry but many had drowned in open Sea while many were caught and jailed. Some 1000 passengers in large boats had drowned after 3 boats had caught fire. They were rescued and later jailed by Libyan authorities.
Burney said that these 246 are those trafficked Pakistanis who survived in Mediterranean-Sea last year and later arrested and sent to Libyan prisons, while almost one thousand unfortunate trafficked persons drowned in the sea.
