Polling on former senator’s vacant seat on June 5

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday announced to hold election on June 5 for member Senate Sindh, a seat which was vacated after the resignation of former senator Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh.

According to the schedule announced by the Sindh Election Commissioner, the candidates can file nomination papers on May 21 and 22 between 9am to 4 pm, to the Provincial Election Commissioner, Sindh in his office situated at block 44-A, Pakistan Secretariat, Shahrah-e-Iraq Saddar, here, said a statement.

The scrutiny of nomination papers will be conducted from May 23 to 26.

The appeal against rejection of the nomination papers can be filed on May 27, between 9am to 4pm.

The appeal against rejection of nomination papers will be disposed off on May 5.

The candidates can withdraw their candidatures by June 2, between 9am to 4 pm while the list of the contesting candidates will be published on same day.

The polling will be held on June 5 between 9am to 4 pm, at the ProvincialAssemblyBuilding here.
