The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has recovered Rs 1390 million outstanding dues from various government institutions during its recent recovery drive.
According to a senior IESCO official, the power supply to various institutions, including Parliament House, Prime Minister and President Secretariats, Cabinet and Pak Secretariat, Supreme Court, Police, Capital Development Authority etc were suspended on April 29 on the directive of Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali for not clearing their dues.
He said Rs 1,390 million out of total Rs 27,827 million had been recovered so far. Outstanding dues against Prime Minister and President Houses, Supreme Court and Parliament House had been paid.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) had made partial payment, however, power supply to its various offices was not yet restored except for water treatment plants. The Capital Police had also not cleared their dues, he added.
