The election fever of Indian elections took Bollywood industry by storms as many of the celebrities run for the electoral on some major constituencies, while several others actively campaigned for their favorite candidates.
Below is the list of major winners and losers from the fraternity:
Hema Malini has carried her Bollywood charm to politics too and won by 350,567 votes. The actress had posted on Twitter: “Congress has been hit by a Tsunami in the form of BJP! The country has decidedly voted for change!”
Kirron Kher and Gul Panag impressed audiences with her speeches and won.
Paresh Rawal’s fans expressed pleasure with the funny man winning in Ahmedabad. Shatrughan Sinha won from his constituency form Patna. Manoj Tiwari has done BJP proud in Delhi. The actor’s dedication and his popularity quotient seems to have hit off well with the people.
However, Rakhi Sawant, who jumped into the field of politics with her own party managed to get only 15 votes. Other prominent bollywood celebrities who lost in the elections are Raj Babbar, Jaya Prada, Prakash Jha, Bappi Lahiri, Mahesh Manjrekar, Ravi Kishan and India’s once favorite daughter in law Smriti Irani (Tulsi).
