KP to set up new police lines costing Rs 2bn

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided in principle to set up new police lines in Mardan, Karak, Haripur and Torghar districts to further strengthen security measures in these areas.

According to a notification, the PTI- led KP government has allocated Rs2 billion to strengthen police force and provide protection to the life and property of the people.

New police lines will be set up in Mardan at a cost of Rs 500m (US $5m) while police lines in Tor Ghar, Karak and Haripur would cost Rs 850m (US $8.6m).

The notification further said that police will also have four new police stations and 14 new special patrolling posts while their infrastructure will also be upgraded.
