Witnesses, including the mother and brother of late Salman Lashari, Thursday identified the main accused in a court set up at a hospital.
O’ Levels student Salman Lashari was gunned down at his house in Defence Housing Authority on May 8. He was allegedly killed by main accused, Salman Abro, who is son of Sakrand Police Training Centre SSP, Ghulam Sarwar Abro.
The identification parade was held at the hospital as the police investigators decided to move an application in the court to conduct the parade of key accused in the murder case inside the hospital where he is currently under treatment.
The eyewitnesses included Lashari’s brother Zeshan, brother-in-law Rahim, mother and servant, all of whom identified Abro from among 10 persons. During the parade, the witnesses claimed that the SSP’s son broke into Salman’s house and shot him dead.
Three days ago, four eyewitnesses, including the victim’s mother, brother, brother in-law and a servant had identified the four accused police officials during the identification parade conducted by the judicial magistrate, Mumtaz Ali Solangi, in district South.
Salman was shot dead at 2:00 am on May 8 while he was studying in his balcony. The young man was allegedly targeted by the SSP’s son who came to Salman’s house along with five police constables to settle an argument.
The guards deployed at Salman’s house retaliated and the victim’s brother, Zeeshan, injured in the firing besides Salman. However, one of his police guards, constable Zaheer Ahmed, was killed. Salman is currently under treatment at Ziauddin Hospital.
An FIR No 235/2014 was registered by the deceased’s brother with the Darakhshan police station against Salman Abro and the four police constables – Muhammad Rasheed, Yasin, Maqbool and Imran. The name of the deceased police constable was added to the FIR. The four surviving policemen are in police custody while Salman Abro would be arrested after he recovers from injuries.
