Fazlur Rehman, chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, has predicted that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government would collapse soon as there is hatred and resentment against it.

Talking to a party delegation on Sunday, the cleric said that the PTI gave nothing to the people, but empty slogans and the party has been fully exposed in the eyes of the voters.

He said certain forces were active to create instability in the country and any step to back such forces would damage democracy and weaken the country. He said the invitation by the prime minister to Imran Khan for talks to address his grievances was a good step but regretted that the offer was turned down.

The JUI-F chief said if anybody had any grievances he was free to convey it to the government but in the given situation, protests were uncalled for. He said the religious parties have played a positive and constructive role in difficult situation. He said at a time when the country was passing through a grave situation, all the state institutions should be strengthened.

The cleric supported the continuation of dialogue with the Taliban pointing out that certain powers were not in favour of the dialogue process and their intentions could create instability in the country. He said the JUI-F has worked for the enforcement of Shariah and had maintained links with other religious parties.
