Afghan forces on Saturday fired mortars into North Waziristan Agency (NWA), however the Pakistan Army silenced their guns.
According to a private TV channel, Afghan forces fired several mortal shells which landed at Dandi Kuch area of Tehsil Spin Wam in NWA, but no loss of life was reported. The firing started at 8:30am and continued until 09am. The Pakistan Army soldiers retaliated after which the guns of Afghan security forces were silenced.
Meanwhile, several suspects, including a key accused, were arrested in a search operation in connection with an attack on a convoy of security forces in Ghulam Khan area on Friday, which killed nine security personnel.
