Wide-body aircrafts wanted for Karachi-Eurasia flights

FPCCI’s Standing Committee on Aviation Chairman Muhammad Yahya Polani has urged Turkish Airlines to launch a wide-body aircraft from Karachi-Pakistan to Eurasian region.

Exchanging views with Huseyin Cepni, General Manager of Turkish Airlines, in a meeting held at TAAP, Polani appreciated that the Airlines was vibrantly operating in Pakistan while providing quality services for Eurasian region and entrance to European Union countries via Istanbul and of course to other countries worldwide.

The Turkish flag-carrier was not only connecting the business communities of two countries but also providing air cargo services, said Polani.

He emphasized that regular flights and wide-body comfortable aircraft connecting two countries is crucial to facilitate the business travelling and transportation of air cargo, particularly for perishable goods, he maintained. He appreciated the services rendered by Huseyin Cepni, GM Turkish Airlines.

He opined that if the proposed PIA-Turkish Airlines Agreement could not turned to reality. Had that agreement materialized it could have brought advantageous results for the National Carrier and the Country today.

General Manager Turkish Airlines Husseyin Cepni said Turkish Airline aims to provide services to Pakistanis to fly from Pakistan to worldwide. He announced that during his recent visit to Airlines Headquarters at Turkey, he proposed launch of wide-body aircraft from Karachi.

Presently, Turkish Airlines was operating wide-body aircrafts from Islamabad and Karachi. The Airline had a fleet of around 250 planes and 12 new airbus 320 were under purchase. He apprised that Turkish Airlines is providing quality services to Pakistanis travelling between Pakistan and Turkey and to other regions of the world particularly Europe.
