Saad Rafique to leave no stone unturned for PR uplift

Pakistan Railways (PR) is taking steps to use the potential of its land for its improvement, said Federal Minister for Pakistan Railways (PR) Khawaja Saad Rafique while talking to journalists at the NESPAK on Monday.
He said that matters pertaining to up gradation of railway stations were discussed in the meeting with NESPAK Managing Director Amjad A Khan and other members.
Under Phase I, the minister said five railway stations would be up graded including those of Narowal, Hassan Abdal, Okara, Sahiwal and Nankana.
Khawaja Saad Rafique said that up gradation of railway stations would add value to the cities and enhance commercial opportunities for the people. He said that food courts, hotels, amusement parks would be build to facilitate people.
The minister said that business, industry and others aspects of the railway station sites had been evaluated.
“No recommendation regarding increase in fares was under consideration,” he added.
He said that performance of the PR would improve with the addition of 40 locomotives. He said that punctuality of trains had improved and work on all areas including improvement of tracks would be done stepwise for overall enhancement of the PR output. PR GM Operations Anjum Pervaiz was also present.
