Five including headmaster, son killed in Karachi

Five persons, including a school headmaster and his son, were killed by firing while dozens of suspects were arrested by law enforcement agencies from different areas of Karachi, a private news channel reported on Saturday.

A headmaster and his son were killed when an armed man opened fire at a school in Metroville area of SITE. The attacker was arrested in an injured state after encounter with Police.

A lawyer named Chaudhry Idrees and his driver were gunned down at OrangiTown. According to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), the two persons were the party’s sympathisers.

Another person was killed in a firing incident at Anda More area of North Karachi.

Police arrested 15 suspects, including six criminals, in raids at BadiaTown and OrangiTown.

According to West SSP Irfan Baloch, ammunition, drugs and bullets were recovered from the criminals. One of the criminals had fired upon a police mobile at IttehadTown few days ago.

Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) personnel nabbed two extortionist after receiving information of criminals, involved in ransom cases, present in the area. However, their two accomplices managed to flee.

CPLC Chief Ahmad Chinoy said that the extortionists had demanded Rs. 1 million from a person living in Gizri area.

A watchman of the house was also involved in the crime.
