LAHORE – The District Officer Revenue has issued a notice to the former Consolidation Officer (Niaz Baig) Jamil Mughal who has been involved in violating the Land Record Manual as he had not consigned any of the ownership right documents to the government since he had been assigned to his post. The District Officer Revenue Zulfiqar Ghuman has issued a notice demanding explanation from the former Consolidation Officer (Niaz Baig) Jamil Mughal who has not dispatched the any of the ownership rights document copies to the government till to date.
Revenue Department sources informed that the former Consolidation Officer Jamil Mughal had been posted at the Niaz Baig sector for two years and was currently without a seat and waiting to be posted. The sources claim that the copies of all the ownership right documents of land sold and purchased with in the period of his posting at the Niaz Baig sector was still with Jamil Mughal. The sources said that over 20,000 individuals, who had been undertaken land transactions in the Niaz Baig area during Mughal’s tenure were being tossed back and forth for incomplete documents, with the accused consolidation office demanding under-the-table money for the documents.
The Niaz Baig area of consists of many housing societies which include Johar Town, a developing suburb of Lahore, which witnesses numerous land transactions every single month.Taking notice, DOR Zulfiqar Ghuman issued a letter to Jamil Mughal for violating Board of Revenue Punjab instructions and asked for written explanation with in seven days. The letter also warns that incase of no reply the case shall be recommended to contempt authorities to initiate disciplinary action against the accused.
