Power supply to Supreme Court, Parliament House disconnected

The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has disconnected electricity supply to the Supreme Court of Pakistan and Parliament House in Islamabad.

The PWD is responsible for clearing the electricity dues of the Supreme Court and according to IESCO officials the bill was not paid for six months which amounts to Rs3.5 million.

According to reports, Parliament House has to pay 120 million worth electricity bills to IESCO. CDA is responsible to return the dues.

Earlier, Water and Power State Minister ordered IESCO to disconnect electricity supply to 18 government institutions including the Presidency, Parliament Lodges and the residence of Chief Justice of Pakistan.
