Celebrate 2014 as year of religious tolerance, calls CJP

Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani has called for celebrating 2014 as the Year of Religious Tolerance and Harmony, a private news channel reported on Saturday.

Presiding over a meeting of the Judicial Policy Committee at Supreme Court’s Lahore Registry today, the Chief Justice said that the judiciary have to play pivotal role for protection of the human rights.

Chief Justice Jillani urged for improvements in laws to protect the rights of the religious minorities and called to celebrate 2014 as the year of religious tolerance and harmony.

The chief justices and registrars of high courts were present in the meeting.

The participants of the meeting discussed hearing of cases and reviewed the recommendations of the International Judicial Conference.
