Imtiaz Alam, journalist and president of the South Asian Free Media Association (SAFMA), on Monday resigned from the Express Media Group after being stopped from airing a live show on the attack on TV journalist Hamid Mir.
According to contents of Alam’s letter of resignation addressed to the managing director Yousaf Baig Mirza, the journalist wanted to host a live programme on the Hamid Mir incident on his show ‘Acha Lagay Bura Lagey’ on Monday evening but the management did not approve live telecast of the show and instead insisted that he should pre-record the programme.
Protesting against the management’s decision, Alam resigned from his position and has given a 30-day notice to the organisation.

  1. All lives show should be stopped and bring under some sort of check and balance. They are confusing the nation instead of leading them toward constructive learning in order to understand the problems Pakistan facing and better solution of those problems.
