Eight armed robbers take away Rs 5m, CCTV cameras

Interior Ministry’s tall claims of foolproof security in the capital fell flat as robbers looted million of rupees from another private bank on Saturday.

Per reports, eight armed robbers barged into a branch of a private bank in Sihala in the vicinity of the federal capital and took security guard and staff as hostages.

The robbers locked the bank, tied the staffers with ropes and fled after looting Rs 5 million cash besides taking away CCTV cameras along with them.

It was the second bank robbery incident during the recent week as earlier a bank was looted in Tarnol Police Station jurisdiction in which a cop was gunned down upon resistance.

 

22 OUTLAWS ARRESTED:

Islamabad Police on Saturday nabbed 22 outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered car, weapons, wine and looted items from their possession, a police spokesman said.

According to details, ASI Zafar Iqbal along with police officials namely Alamdar, Ali Zaman and Abid Ali from Secretariat Police Station apprehended a car-lifter namely Danish s/o Raza resident of Rawalpindi red-handed from Murree Road.

Police also recovered the car and case has been registered against him. He has already criminal record as a case is also registered in Westridge Police Station Rawalpindi against him.

Meanwhile, CIA Police arrested an accused Shahbaz Masih during patrolling and recovered 115 bottles of wine from him. Secretariat police recovered 30-bore pistol with ammunition from an accused Arsalan Ahmad, while Margalla Police recovered 310 gram hashish from drug peddler identified as Asif.

Moreover, Golra Police arrested a lady drug pusher namely Sonia Bibi and recovered 50 grams of heroin. Sabzi Mandi Police arrested an accused namely Bani Amin and recovered mobile phone, while Sihala Police recovered two bottles of wine from and accused Azeem arrested during patrolling.

Koral Police arrested 15 culprits including seven women involved in immoral activities. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, Islamabad Police impounded 119 bikes and nine vehicles during general hold up. Black sheets were removed from nine tinted glass vehicles while police also apprehended three suspects during search operation in various areas of the city.

AIG (Operations) Sultan Azam Temuri has appreciated this performance of police officials and has directed to remain vigilant in their respective areas. Patrolling should be enhanced and every possible step to be taken in order to curb crime, he maintained.
