IHC CJ wants better security at courts

Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice (CJ) Anwar Abbas Khan Kassi, blaming the administration of mismanagement on account of Islamabad F-8 courts attack, said that the blood of the martyred will not go waste.

He was addressing a condolence reference in Jinnah Hall of Islamabad High Court for the martyred of district court attack arranged in collaboration of the Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) and Islamabad District Bar Association (IDBA), Islamabad.

Justice Shaukat Aziz Saddiqi, Justice Noorul Haq N Qureshi, Justice Riaz Ahmed Khan, additional, session, civil judges, advocates and a number of citizens participated in the reference.

Addressing the reference IHC CJ Kassi said that blood of the martyred will not go in waste and sorrowful incident of Kutchehri attack took place due to the mismanagement of the administration due to which along with Additional Session Judge Raffaqat, advocates and civilians became the target of terrorism.  He said that government must make better arrangements for the security of courts.

Addressing to the reference District Bar President Naseer Kyani said that in the current era courts are independent and due to the decisions of courts advocates and judges are on the target of the terrorists. The government did not make sufficient arrangements for the security of judges and advocates, he added.

He said on the notice of chief justice high court, a judicial enquiry was made under the administration of Justice Shaukat Aziz Saddiqi and that enquiry has been sent to the government and government must implement on it as it is.

High Court Bar President Mohsin Akhtar Kayani also addressed to the condolence reference, he said, District and High Court Bar express full solidarity with the families of the judges and advocates who were targeted in the terrorist activity and the whole lawyers’ community is with the families of the martyred. He said lawyers are fighting for the survival of Pakistan and will continue to fight.

In association with District Bar, HighCourtBar and IB Foundation documents of plots in Gulberg Society were also given and the IHC CJ distributed the allotment letters of the plots to the families of the martyred and distributed checks of Rs 500,000 to the injured.

The proceedings of the reference concluded after offering ‘fateha’ for martyred and prayers for early recovery of injured persons.
