PESHAWAR-

Member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) appointed intermediary committee Professor Ibrahim on Friday said that the militant outfit can agree for another truce if the government caters to their demands.

The Jamat-e-Islami (JI) leader was talking to media representatives today.

“The major grievance TTP has is that their non-combatants (imprisoned by government) are not being released. We are trying to convince them on the ceasefire but it will be possible when the government releases their prisoners,” said Ibrahim.

He said that his committee will find a way to convince TTP but only if the government demonstrates sincerity.

“There should be no war no matter what. We hope the matters will not get worse,” added the JI leader.

On Wednesday, the banned militant group announced that it would not be extending the ceasefire but would continue to hold peace talks.

  1. one has to question the prof of terrorism's loyalty to his motherland! release the so called non-combatant terrorist or there will be no extension of ceasefire- these are bullying tactics and negotiations conducted by pointing the gun at the weak governments head, and it will oblige !it is sad to see an equally impotent army goes along with nawaz's weak govt !

  2. Govt. consist of bunch of idiots. It is delaying tactics so that they can recover the losses military have inflicted on them. you don't havee to be genius to figure it out. How should JI people entrusted when they give shelter to those murderers.

  3. Shah also said that there was no demand under discussion regarding imposition of Sharia in the country. He said that the members would try to address the concerns of the religious parties but it would take some time to yield positive results.
