KARACHI
Balochistan National Party (BNP) chief Sardar Akhter Mengal on Monday said that his party is left with no option but to resign from assemblies after the discovery of mass graves and mutilated bodies in Balochistan.
Talking to reporters after his meeting with Muhajir Qaumi Movement chief Afaq Ahmed, Mengal said that if he resigned from the assembly, then there would be no democrat left in Balochistan.
To a question, he said those who supported him in elections were being killed. Mengal inquired that what would he do of such assemblies when he could not speak of the rights of his party workers. He said that the Balochistan’s representation in the National Assembly was not equal to that of a single district of Sindh and Punjab.
Speaking on the occasion, Afaq Ahmed said that the circumstances in Karachi were also worsened like Balochistan, adding that courts were performing their duties under intense pressure and the judicial complex was not being constructed due to fears.
