Jamaat-e-Islami’s (JI) Chief Sirajul Haq said that the statements made by the Water and Power State Minister Abid Sher Ali are undemocratic and demanded the federal government to take notice, a private news channel reported on Sunday.

Speaking to media after condoling JUI Senator Ghulam Ali on the death of his father, JI Chief Sirajul Haq said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) generates its own electricity. “Cutting off the province’s electricity will be unjust”, he said.

While commenting on the peace talks with Taliban, Sirajul Haq said that the negotiation process with the militants cannot be sabotaged due to any single incident. He added that the federal government has removed all the deadlocks for peace in the country.

Sirajul Haq also said that the government wants to divert the attention of the nation away from the real issues.
