Woman lecturers protest salary-less toil

Non-payment of salary to woman lecturers from Government Degree College Peshawar RoadRawalpindi has caused serious concerns among the teachers.

As many as four woman lecturers who were appointed in the college under Chief Minister’s Scheme (CMS) have been performing their duty in this college for the last several months but not a single pie has been paid to them on account of their monthly pay so far.

One among these lecturers is Quratul Ain who was appointed as lecturer in the subject of Geography on the basis of CTE. Mina was appointed as lecturer of Psychology, Iram as lecturer of Mathematics and Nargis as lecturer of Physics. These lecturers were inducted against stipend of Rs 15,000 per month.

Two English lecturers including Shaista and Surrayya have resigned from service being not paid salary.

The students of college have voiced strong protest against non payment of salary to these woman lecturers saying that they are already suffering heavily in terms of completion of their syllabus due to shortage of staff and even the lecturers who have been appointed are not being paid salary. They will also resign from service then where their education future will stand.

The woman lecturers have demanded for immediate disbursement of outstanding salary to them besides providing fund to the college management for payment of their salaries on regular basis.
