Make way for the Korean premier

Prime Minister of Republic of Korea Chung Hongwon, at the invitation of Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif, will arrive here on April 13 on a four-day official visit.

This will be the first ever prime minister level visit to Pakistan from the Republic of Korea since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1983.

According to a Foreign Office spokesperson, the Korean prime minister is scheduled to meet President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He will be the chief guest at the “Korea Pakistan Investment Cooperation Forum” jointly organized by Board of Investment, Pakistan and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) on April 14.

Over the years, relations between Pakistan and the Republic of Korea in various fields have deepened and broadened.

Bilateral trade figure of US $ 1.341 billion speaks of growing economic and trade ties between the two countries.

Many Korean companies are investing in Pakistan in the areas of chemical industry, hydel, thermal power and infrastructure projects etc.
