The government was mulling releasing more non-militant Taliban detainees, said Taliban liaison committee Chief Maulana Samiul Haq on Saturday.
“The talks between the government and Taliban have finally started rolling amid an improving atmosphere of mutual trust”, said Sami while briefing media after attending a meeting held under the chair of Federal Minister for Interior Ch Nisar Ali Khan.
He, in the same breath, also admitted that despite a mutual wish for peace, both the sides were also under a lot of pressure.
“The goal we are after is not an easy one to achieve. The path towards peace is riddled with difficulties”, said he.
Sami informed the media that next meeting would be held in two to three days.
