Ghazi murder case: Musharraf summoned on May 3

Rejecting the plea for permanent exemption from appearance, an additional session judge on Saturday summoned former president Pervez Musharraf on May 3 in the Ghazi Abdul Rasheed murder case.
Additional Session Judge Wajid Ali was hearing the case. During the course of proceedings, Musharraf’s lawyer Akhtar Shah filed the exemption plea. He said that the former president was facing life threats, adding that his client was even targeted while shifting from hospital to farmhouse.
‘Lal Masjid Shuhada Foundation’ lawyer Tariq Asad said that the former military ruler could be summoned after making appropriate security arrangements, adding that the trial could be held in high court premises.
After hearing the arguments, the court exempted Musharraf from Saturday’s hearing while rejected the plea for permanent exemption. The court summoned Musharraf on May 3.
