Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday alleged that the NAB chairman has no moral courage to go after big criminals.
Talking to reporters outside the Supreme Court, the cricketer-turned-politician alleged that the government appointed the NAB chairman with the connivance of the opposition to sweep their corruption cases under the carpet. The PTI chairman also said such scene of connivance was also obvious in the previous election where blue eye staffs were inducted in provincial election commission that help in rigging the polls.
He said that former president Asif Zardari, who had disassociated himself from the money in Swiss accounts, now wanted to get the jewellery of Benazir Bhutto costing Rs 80 million.
He reiterated that his party was voted to power for the peace talks and prevailing peace in the country rather than carrying out operation in North Waziristan Agency.
“We want the NAB chairman to function independently rather than working under the prime minister,” he said.
The reason why heads of various institutions were not being appointed is because the government and opposition were short of blue-eyed boys, he added.
