A polio team was attacked on Thursday by suspected militants in Loralai district of Balochistan and at least one policemen guarding the team was killed in the ambush, a private news channel reported.
According to the report, a police official confirmed that unidentified gunmen opened fire on a polio team in Loralai’s Nasarabad area, killing a policeman on duty to guard the health workers.
The attackers fled the scene.
Police authorities arrived at the spot and launched a probe.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
Militants frequently attacks polio team in parts of Balochistan, hampering the polio drive in the province.
