*Governor confers 20 civil awards

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, in an impressive ceremony held at the Governor’s House on Sunday, to mark the Pakistan Day, conferred civil awards on 20 personalities owing to their remarkable services in various fields.

Those were conferred awards had rendered remarkable services in the field of education, health, journalism, science, art and literature.

The governor awarded 3 Sitara-e-Imtiaz to Gujrat University VC Muhammad Nizamud Din, prominent journalist Ashiq Chaudhry, and poet/writer Late Shahzad Ahmad whose award was received by his wife.

He also awarded 11 presidential awards to Dr Hamid Salim, Dr Arif Chaudhry, Hassan Shah Nawaz Zaidi, Sohail Chaudhry, Aurangzaib Laghari, Dr Tabassum Kashmeeri, Dr Yunus Javed, Azhar Jafri, Syed Irshad Hussain, Khalid Ahmad and Zeeshan Abbasi.

Chaudhry Sarwar also distributed 6 Tamgha-e-Imtiaz awards to Dr Fozia Yusuf, Mian Ghulam Ahmad, Waseem Ahmad, Ghulam Muhammad Naz, Prof Dr Abdul Tawwab Khan and LDA DG Ahad Cheema.
