Rs 100m being spent on water channels’ improvement

HAFIZABAD – A sum of Rs 100 million is being spent on the improvement of water channels in Hafizabad. It was disclosed in an inaugural ceremony of remodeling of Shori Manika minor near Pindi Bhattian. Member National Assembly (MNA) Chaudhry Liaqat Abbas Bhatti inaugurated the minor to release water and said with the completion of this scheme, the water supply to the agricultural land of eight villages would be improved.
CHILDREN TO BE ENROLLED IN SCHOOLS: Under the Universal Primary Education Enrolment Campaign, children up to nine years of age would be enrolled in the schools. Hafizabad Education Executive District Officer Sohail Azahar Khan said this while addressing an opening ceremony of this programme held at Government Muslim High School Hafizabab.
Under this programme, free text books would be provided to the students, he said adding that with the collaboration of National Commission for Human Development (NCHD), those students would be enrolled who were not going to schools.
MAN ARRESTED FOR MOLESTING GIRL: Vaneki Tarar police have arrested a man on the charges of molesting a nine-year-old girl in village Kolo Tarar. Reportedly, a nine-year-old girl was playing in the street when Younas took her to his home, molested her and fled away. The police investigated into the case and arrested the accused.
