Victims get nothing but promises

Senior Provincial Minister Nisar Ahmad Khuhro has resolved to probe and unveil the recent turmoil in Larkana besides exposing the miscreants who perpetuated the event(s).

Talking to journalists on Monday after presiding over a meeting in Larkana’s Circuit House, he assured that an effective probe would be carried out to discern elements involved in burning of sacred verses and attack in Hindi temple.

He also expressed the government’s strong resolve to maintain peace and harmony in Larkana by taking all possible security measures including increased patrolling by police and related law enforcement, snap checking, while strict vigilance would also be kept on all entry and exits of the city.

The minister also said that all efforts would be made to ensure safety of Hindu community and all citizens, adding that he would be personally monitor the security of Larkana.

Later, the minister also met Hindu panchayat leaders at the Hindu temple and assured them of full cooperation.

Earlier, a high-profile meeting condemned the burning of scared verses and attack on the Hindu temple, while police briefed senior ministers about the whole episode during which arrest of one person was also announced.

The meeting also approved of forming a committee under the chair of SSP and deputy commissioner, besides another committee based on religious notables which would help curb such crimes.
