The Supreme Court (SC) has accepted review petition filed by former DG Rao Shakil accused in Haj corruption case and directed trial court to conduct his trial in transparent manner without being influenced by SC decision.

A three-member bench, headed by Justice Nasirul Mulkm took up the case for hearing on Thursday.

Ali Zafar, counsel for Rao Shakeel, said his client had filed application that he had been declared  involved in Haj corruption case due to court’s observation and the transparent trial being conducted under Article 10-A is being influenced.

The subordinate court will give decision under the influence of the decision of the SC which will cause harm to him and the ends of justice will also not be met, he added.

While accepting his plea, the court ordered the subordinate court to conduct trial of Shakeel without being influenced by SC decision. The court also disposed of his application.
