Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has directed all the heads of police and Rangers to prepare a comprehensive contingency plan for conducting “specific strict surgical operation” with full force to burst out Lyari gangsters. He said any delay in this action would cause negative impact on the achievements of ongoing targeted operation and security problems in the city.

“Enough is enough. The govt will not tolerate the killing of innocent people,” the chief minister said. He said this while presiding over a meeting on law and order here at the CM House Thursday evening.

The chief minister directed that LEA’s to find out the way – whatever they deemed suitable to fight with criminals. The Sindh govt would extend full support to them, he pledged.

However, he asked them to carry out the specific surgical operation in such a way that no innocent citizen suffered. The chief minister also endorsed the suggestion for getting red warrants issued against the heads of Lyari gangs which reportedly had managed to escape abroad.

He further directed that the construction of illegal/without permission Madrassahs and activities like Chanda collection in the name of charity by banned organisations should be stopped with immediate effect.

Shah directed the deputy commissioners and SP’s in the province to go through and identify the un-registered seminaries and Madarsa’s in their areas and get them closed failing which they would be held responsible for their negligence.

The chief minister directed the authority concerned for expediting process for purchasing APC, bullet-proof vehicles and latest weapons for which special relaxation in rules have been provided.

“All are interested to invest in Karachi and therefore we must to maintain law and order seriously,” Shah said. Sindh Minister for Information and Local Govt Sharjeel Inam Memon stressed on the need of preparing a foolproof security plan for Lyari.

He said strict operation should be conducted in Lyari across the board. He also recommended closing all the entries and exit points being used by gangsters of Lyari.

Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Syed Mumtaz Shah, IG Police Iqbal Mehmood, Additional IG Karachi Shahid Hayat and officers from LEA’s briefed the meeting about the performance of ongoing targeted operation in Karachi and future strategy.
