LAHORE – The Pakistan Rugby Union, in collaboration with HEC and University of Lahore, is holding the 2nd Inter-varsity Rugby Championship from March 25 (today). Thirteen teams will participate in the tournament which will be played on a knock-out basis. Matches will start at 9 am at the Model town A block ground. Last year’s champions University of Bahawalpur, runner-ups University of Central Punjab, University of Lahore, University of Veterinary Science, University of Peshawar, GC University Lahore, LUMS, Punjab University, NECS Islamabad, Agriculture University Faisalabad, BZU, Superior University and University of Management and Technology Lahore are among the participants.
President PRU Fawzi Khawaja said: “The tournament will be used to select players for the HEC team that will take part in the upcoming Pakistan Inter-department XV championship to be held in Lahore at the end of April. We will also be looking for under-20 boys for the national camp.”
