LAHORE – The governing board of the PCB on Thursday ratified the code of conduct for players and the general body members, and also approved players’ central contracts for the next six months. The 19th meeting of PCB Board of Governors was held Thursday at the PCB Headquarters and was chaired Ijaz Butt. An official of the board informed that the meeting was held in accordance with the PCB Constitution that required BOG meetings to be held at least once in every quarter. He said that the last meeting of the BOG was held in December 2010. Wazir Ali Khoja, Naveed Akram Cheema, Mir Haider Ali Talpur, Maj (R) Syed Naeem Akhter Gillani, Amir Nawab, Chaudary Mohammad Anwar and Subhan Ahmad (COO) attended the meeting.
BOG Members Javed Miandad and Tariq Baloch were unable to attend due to prior commitments, while Intikhab Alam was on official duty as Pakistan team manager, the official added. He said that the board discussed and ratified the code of conduct for players. He further stated: “The BOG granted post facto approval to the central contracts for the national team players.””The board was informed of the resignation of PCB CFO Mian Raza Ahmed and the appointment of Asad Siddiqui as Internal Auditor, who was appointed as acting CFO until a new appointment is made,” he added.
The house also discussed the progress of work on the Garhi Khuda Baksh Cricket Stadium and the members showed satisfaction over Pakistan team’s performance in the Cricket World Cup 2011 thus far and congratulated the team, management and PCB on the team reaching the semi-finals.
