No need to seek first wife’s permission for second marriage, rules Islamic council

The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) on Monday declared the law seeking consent from first spouse for a second marriage un-Islamic, saying Sharia does not bind a man to seek permission from his first wife before contracting another marriage.
The CII meeting was held with Chairman Muhammad Khan Sherani in the chair. The meeting discussed Islamic Family Laws 1961. The CII declared one section of the law un-Islamic under which a man is bound to seek approval from first wife in black and white for second marriage.
“Under Sharia a man is not bound to seek approval for a second marriage from the first wife,” declared Sherani.
However, according to Sharia a man is bound to treat all his spouses with justice and equity, he said.

    • CII is un-Islamic body when is says DNA is not admissible. Why would 4 people witness and not stop a crime, it makes them accessory to a crima so now u need 4 more so basically what’s the point

    • Yes rape is injustice same like that 2nd or 3 marriage also comes in circle of injustice if men don't share responsibility evenly.You never hear the complexes children live in polygamous environment.In millions only few can have such ability.Even you can read that Prophet(saw) had faced many problems of quarreling of wives in his married life but at time of single marriage with hazarat khadeeja he was the most content man.

      • what problems did he face ,, these are normal issues….the Prophet as well as the sahaba had taken care of these things cause they lived for larger cause rather than minor issues….and their wives were satisfied…..

        • Minor issues?? no these dont become minor if remained cooking in house and make life hell like.You just believe what is said in books as this is presented in positive manner in history magnifying good picture of any thing.Come to reality ,for common man it become worst kind of scenario for managing twice or thrice married life surely Rich can manage it in well form but later on the children from all wives draw daggers on each other for claiming parental assets.Salman taseer case is good example of all this as no body is interested in father killers or killing but roaming in all courts to get share as much as possible.

  3. yes underage marrige un Islamic mean unmature every law of emotion action ka reaction necessary just like you pull 100 kg weight as per your body and physics why we order or force to you pull 200 kg weight.

  4. i would welcome whatever is there in islam….and the beauty here is that keeping the wives happy is also integral part of islam….check the hadith. i hope the widows would find safe places with husbands..rather than rotting their lives living alone in this harsh world……..
