According to US State Dept, US never left Pakistan alone in fight against terrorism

The United States remained very closely tied with the government of Pakistan in fighting terrorism and has kept in coordination with Islamabad in that effort as well, said US State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki while answering a question during her briefing on Monday.

The spokeswoman said that US actions and efforts including the recent strategic dialogue with Pakistan were a clear proof of cooperation between the two countries to deal with terrorism and other issues of interest. She said the US has an ongoing vital shared strategic interest with the government of Pakistan in ending terrorism and pursuing a stable, peace and prosperous region.

Psaki said that US Secretary of State John Kerry visited Pakistan last summer and hopes to go to Pakistan again.

  1. These regular meetings between our officials prove our nations are committed to working together for the betterment of the region. Let’s not forget, our nations have often received criticism for not coordinating and communicating regularly. These meetings allow us to discuss our shared objectives in the region, and at the same time, strategize accordingly. With that said, we’ve repeatedly made our stance clear regarding the peace talks; it is up to Pakistan whether to take military action against the terrorists or to hold peace talks with them. We look forward to working together in a healthy working relationship and greatly appreciate Pakistan’s sacrifices in the region
