CCPO assures support to businessmen, police liaison
CapitalCity Police Officer (CCPO) Chaudhry Muhammad Shafique on Saturday assured his all-out support to Citizen Police Business Liaison Committee and decided to conduct the CPBLC monthly meeting at his office to make it more effective and result-oriented.
He was talking to the CPBLC Chairman Engineer Sohail Lashari who was leading a six-member CPBLC delegation comprising its Vice Chairman Muhammad Amjad Chaudhry, General Secretary Nasrullah Mughal, Project Director Haji Muhammad Akram and members- Zafar Mehmood, Azmat Javaid and former LCCI Executive Committee member Khamis Saeed Butt.
DIG (Investigation) Zulfiqar Hameed, DIG (Operations) Rana Abdul Jabbar,
SSP (Administration) Rana Shahzad Akmal and SSP (Internal Accountability Division) Sohail Sukhera were also present.

Sukhera as focal person to liaison with the CPBLC chairman, and hoped the new committee would work with a new vigour and enthusiasm.
He said the police have decided to refer all the business-related issues to the CPBLC for their settlement.
Peace was a prerequisite to the economic well being of the country therefore all efforts were being made to purge the society of anti-social elements, he added.
He said the commitments made with the CPBLC would be fulfilled at every cost and the Lahore Police would prove it despite having meager resources.
The DIG Operations Rana Abdul Jabbar said that there was no organised gang of extortionists in the city and most of extortion cases turned fake when a thorough investigation was carried out.
Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Engineer Sohail Lashari said that the committee would be made to work in Karachi CPLC style and it would be ensured that its benefits reach the business community in real terms.
He said the committee members had been selected very carefully to ensure true representation of business community.
He suggested the CCPO to establish the CPBLC offices at divisional level to improve its efficiency and performance. Collaboration between the business community and the police would not only help purge society of crimes and criminals but also send a good message that on national issues public and private sectors were on same page. At the end of the meeting, the CCPO presented a souvenir to the CPBLC chairman.
