SA passes resolution in favor of four national languages

Sindh Assembly has unanimously passed a resolution to give national language status to four major provincial languages.

According to the text of the resolution, Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashto and Balochi will be considered as the national languages of Pakistan.

The resolution was presented by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Mehtab Arshad Rashdi and said that Sindh represents a civilization and its language should get recognition.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Iram Khalid also presented a resolution for the formation of Sindh Women Parliamentary Group which was also passed by the Sindh Parliament.

However, the Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah asked MPA Sikander Mendro to leave the session on arriving one hour late in Assembly.

  1. Very interesting; reminds me of the tower of Babylon. Is there any official language ? Does it mean the children will have to learn at least 4 languages, 5 or may be 6 if official languages are different from these 4 ? Looks like every one in Pakistan wants to impose their will on others. Since when a provincial assembly has become a national policy maker ? When Mr. Khatak of (PTI) goes to Islamabad, or when Mr. Zardari of (PPP) goes to Baluchistan, or Mr. Mengal of (BNP) visits Lahore, or the Prime minister of (PML_N) goes to Peshawar which national language they use.

  2. Why to complicate the already complicated life of Pakistanies. There are many other tasks to solve.
