NORTH WAZIRISTAN

Scores of residents near the Pak-Afghan border have started migrating to safer places in realm of a possible military operation in North Waziristan Agency (NWA).
According to details, residents of NWA have started to leave the area for safer places as a military operation by Pakistan Army is expected anytime. The area is primarily occupied by local and foreign militants affiliated with banned terrorist outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
People from Seegi, Ghulam Khan, Mandi and Tehsil Datta Khel are moving away leaving their homes. People belonging to Mir Ali have also started shifting to Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Karak and Peshawar.
Signs of a military operation in the region became evident when Pakistan Air Force (PAF) fighter jets bombed militants hideouts late on Wednesday night, in North Waziristan and Khyber agencies.
Surgical strikes came in to sight after the killing of 23 FC men held captive by terrorists belonging to TTP Mohmand Agency. The men were abducted in 2010, whilst terrorists slaughtered them a few days ago in Afghanistan.
After the slaughtering of FC troops at the hands of the terrorists, a deadlock occurred in the negotiations process and the government gave a go ahead to the armed forces to fully retaliate terrorist attacks.
