NAB approves references in RPPs corruption

An executive board meeting of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday decided to file three references. Two references were approved in rental power projects (RPPs) corruption case.
The references were approved in RPPs case Piranghaib, Multan and Techno Engineering Services (Pvt) Ltd Sahuwal, Sialkot for alleged corruption, corrupt practices and misuse of authority in awarding RPPs contracts.
The accused are accused of concealing the facts while getting the approval of the competent forum, making post-bid changes, thus causing huge loss to the national exchequer.
The board also approved the filing of reference in a case of illegal plot allotment. Raja Altaf and Raja Hanif are accused of fraud and forgery and misuse of authority and depriving complainant Ramazan Ali of Rs 9.8 million.
