Suspected robbers shot and killed a sub-inspector in Rawalpindi on Thursday, police said.
According to information, a police team led by Sub-Inspector Muhammad Gondal raided a house in Gulshanabad to arrest robbers.
They, however, opened fire on the police party, killing Gondal and injuring a constable, who was rushed to the DHQHospital. Meanwhile, the suspects managed to flee the scene after the firing.
10 LAWBREAKERS ARRESTED:
Islamabad police have arrested 10 alleged outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered hashish and wine from their possession, police spokesman said.
According to details, Aabpara police arrested a drug pusher accused Haroon Masih, resident of sector G-7/2 and recovered 1.50 kg Hashish from him.
Margallah Police nabbed two persons accused Shahid and Afzal involved in decanting gas in cylinders illegally.
Tarnol Police arrested a proclaimed offender Waqas who was wanted to police in a murder case.
Sabzi Mandi Police arrested accused Abdullah, Ghulam Nabi, Bismillah, Niamat Ullah and Hafiz ur Rehman on blocking road by erecting encroachments.
Golra Police arrested Qasim Khan for his alleged involvement in dacoity incident. Separate cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them.
During general holdup, police impounded 68 bikes and 02 vehicles and also arrested 11 suspects from various areas of the city.
