Special Court (SC), hearing the high treason case against Pervez Musharraf, has reserved the judgment on the petition alleging the judges being biased against the former army chief.
A three-member SC led by Justice Faisal Arab and comprising Justice Yawar Ali and Justice Tahira Safdar heard the petition Wednesday.
During the course of hearing, Anwar Mansoor, counsel for Musharraf, said a judge who is said to be biased should save himself from hearing the case, to which Justice Faisal Arab remarked, “The court will itself evolve guiding principles regarding under what circumstances a judge should separate himself from the hearing. Such allegations are leveled everywhere in the world. But should the judge rescue himself from hearing only due to the allegations of biasness?
The court, while reserving judgment on the petition till Friday, directed that the arguments on the petitions pertaining to appointment of the prosecution be given on Friday.
