The President of United States Barak Obama has reportedly flagged down HBO’s chief executive to nab advance copies of shows ‘Thrones’ and ‘True Detective’ for the holiday weekend. Drama-loving Obama also tweeted about the new season of ‘House of Cards.’

Obama was all about entertainment for the three-day weekend — petitioning HBO’s head honcho for DVDs of ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘True Detective,’ tweeting about Netflix’s ‘House of Cards’ and granting an interview to TNT’s Charles Barkley.

President Obama, who reminded Americans of his fondness for basketball by granting an interview to TNT’s Charles Barkley that aired during Sunday night’s broadcast of the NBA All-Star Game, also likes his cable dramas.

Obama approached HBO’s chief executive at the Feb. 11 state dinner for French President Francois Hollande to seek advance copies of two of the network’s top shows.

“Where is my ‘True Detective’ and ‘Game of Thrones?’” Obama asked HBO’s Richard Plepler, according to The New York Times.

Obama apparently wasn’t kidding around with Plepler. The President, who wanted the shows for his three-day weekend at the Sunnylands estate in Southern California, waved over an aide to make sure the executive knew where to send the DVDs. There was no immediate word from the White House on whether Obama received the shows in time for his departure.
