Pak Army likely to launch major offensive in North Waziristan

PESHAWAR –

The government authorities have decided in principle to launch the offensive against terrorists in North Waziristan, a private news channel reported on Monday.

Army has been asked to be prepared for any action that may be directed.

Sources cited government authorities as saying that every possible step will be taken to ensure peace ranging from launching air offensive to surgical strikes to eliminate terrorists from the region.

They said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had also directed that no compromise be made on national security.

If the government was smart,they would have had the army on stand by in case the taliban go back on their word(which everyone knew they would) Should have started the offense the minute it was decided,now you are waiting,putting the news out there for everyone and their dog to be prepared for you.SMH.

  7. I have serious doubts about Pakistan army's ability to eliminate talibans. So far, talibans have shown that they can take on the army anytime, anywhere and beat them. I hope I am wrong.

    • You are wrong actually. We have launched numerous operations against the Taliban and we were always successful. Actually, there were 30,000 militants at the start of TTP. Now it's been reduced to around 2,500 in the space of 7 years. So the Army is perfectly capable of eliminating the Taliban. If we can hold off India so many times, then the Taliban shouldn't be a problem. Besides, their Jihad is illegitimate because they are Khawarij and Allah has a massive punishment for Khawarij's like TTP. And also they think we are like Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan. But in reality, they are dealing with a nuclear-armed state so it's practically impossible for us to lose to them and they also won't be able to implement their Sharia Law in the country. It's a definite Pakistan Army victory by the end of this year, if not next year for sure Insha'Allah. Pakistan Army zindabad!

    Saudi sponsor terrorist groups going to kidnape more Iranian guards from Balochistan border to prepare ground and hate among Pakistani nation for Iran. Saudi's totally lost their fight in Lebanon,Syria,Egypt and Iraq, now their ground is Pakistan.
    Nawaz Sharif can be Greatest Leader if he tackle the situation, otherwise after 20 years same tv channels 'll repeat Sovietique-Afghan war type mistake of Nawaz Sharif.
