The city police on Sunday arrested three of their fellow workers for involvement in robbing the citizens of their money and valuables in the Saddar area.
A special team of south zone police conducted a sting operation near Rambo Center located in Saddar late Saturday night and apprehended at least three police personnel for their illegal activities.
According to police sources, the special team was formed on citizens’ complaints against some people who while clad in police uniform, extort money from people.
Police officials said one of the captured personnel hails from Special Investigation Unit (SIU) and two others were on duty in Preedy police station. The officials said a case had been registered against the personnel and a departmental inquiry would also be instituted against them.
