500 retired Pak Army soldiers join Sindh police

KARACHI –

As many as 500 retired soldiers of the Pakistan Army have joined the Sindh police on Sunday.

According to the Sindh Police spokesman, they were appointed to combat terrorism in the city.

“They will be appointed in the sensitive areas of Karachi after one month training”, he told.

He further said that some 600 other retired soldiers would join the police in coming weeks.

  1. I pray that these fine men will be Law Officers and Enforcers in the true spirit of justice and not henchmen for rulers and lawbreakers. I wish them well.

    I hope these recruits have been immunized against blackmail, threats and extortion from politicians let alone criminals although in many cases it is difficult to discriminate between the two. Party political interference into Policing must be stamped out.
