The government appointed negotiating committee has written a letter to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) representing committee, in which they have demanded the outlawed organisation to immediately stop militant attacks.

The letter further stated that if the attackers are some other elements than they should be indicated and exposed.

According to sources, the letter calls for an immediate end to Taliban activities as terrorist attacks are having a negative impact on peace talks.

The government committee has also conveyed its demands and suggestions to the Taliban, linking a proposed meeting with improvement in conditions.

The government committee has also expressed reservations over an interview, given by TTP spokesman Shahidullah Shahid recently.

Taliban committee member Professor Ibrahim said the recommendations of the TTP political shura had been conveyed to the government and there were now awaiting a reply.

Professor Ibrahim further said there was no meeting scheduled between the two committees on Thursday and Friday.

A meeting of the talks committee held yesterday night, which was attended by the all four members of the government committee.

The meeting also discussed a written report presented by the Taliban committee. Later, the committee informed Taliban in written about the government’s response.

Moreover, MQM senator Nasreen Jalil, speaking in the upper house of the parliament blasted the government’s dialogue with Taliban. She demanded that the attacks by the militants should be halted if the government wants to hold dialogue with Taliban.

Wake up Pakistan!…how much do you have to lose before your government sees the light???
