Provincial Minister for Food Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar said that the Sindh food department has completed its arrangements for purchasing of wheat under the Sindh Public Procurement Regularity Authority and the process will start from March 15.
He was presiding over a high-level departmental meeting at his office, said a statement issued on Sunday. He said a committee had been constituted under the directives of SPPRA for procurement of jute bags and the committee would work in the lights of SPPRA guidance.
He told that the procurement of jute bags would be done on region/zone wise in order to minimise the transportation expenses. The provincial minister for food added that tenders had been invited for procurement of jute bags under the directives of SPPRA.
Jam directed the officers concerned to take all measures to maintain transparency in the process of procurement. He further said that no negligence would be tolerated in this regard.
