The Lahore High Court on Tuesday adjourning the hearing of a petition for putting a ban on lawyers’ boycott of court proceedings again summoned vice chairman Pakistan Bar Council, president Lahore High Court Bar Association and president Lahore Bar Association for February 11.
Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah passed the orders on a petition filed by Barrister Iqbal Jafree for putting a ban on lawyers’ boycott to court proceedings. The petitioner has submitted that the Supreme Court of India had banned lawyers’ boycott in 2003 and there had been no strike since then.
The court adjourned the matter due to non-availability of bar representatives on Tuesday.
At the previous hearing, the bar representatives had agreed before the court that lawyers could not observe strikes during court hours.
