The visitors and stallholders Tuesday slammed the concerned officials of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) for not sufficiently safeguarding tourists and recreational places in the federal capital from wild boars.

The stallholders and visitors at different places including Daman-e-Koh and Rose and JasmineGarden, while talking to INP said that earlier they were scared of stray dogs while coming to parks but now the situation has worsened as wild pigs come out to the open places right after the sunset. They said that the CDA should either build fences around the public places or eliminate the wild animals from the surrounding areas.

Fahad Touheed, a visitor at Daman-e-Koh, told INP that his car parked in the parking area was damaged by the wild boars when he was on a visit of the place with some guests. He said that the pigs came out of the bushes in a herd and started roaming there, putting a threat to the lives of the visitors.

Hakim Ali, a shopkeeper at Rose and JasmineGarden, said that the wild pigs wander in the park to eat the leftover food thrown by the visitors. He said that many wild boars are living in the surrounding areas and come out in open mostly in evening and wee hours of morning. He said that the CDA should kill the wild animals.
